Your Friends Have Turned To Stone - Info Sheet And FAQ
The stone statues! What gives?
Isle or Auradon, statues will be appearing of people from the Missrecalled and Misery-called's pasts. This can be someone they know from canon or CRAU, or even just once upon a dream. The statues will last as long as the event does - one week IC - or until removed by methods outlined in the event posts on each side.
While most of the information is in the event posts already, below are some clarifications the Mod Squad thought might be useful. If you have any additional questions, please drop them below!
Thank you and have fun!
Q> Can there be a statue of someone who is in game currently?
A No, with one exception. There can only be a statue of someone in game if the players agree OOC *AND* if the character finding the statue has no way to know the other player is n game and cannot find out before the end of the event. (For example one in Auradon, one on the Isle)
Q What if multiple people would have the same person as a statue?
AThen there is one version of the statue for each Missrecalled/Misery-called who would feel that way about that character, however... each Missrecalled/Misery-called can only remove one statue of each other person. So if Xion and Lea both miss Taiki for example, there can be two Taiki statues, but Lea can only talk away one, Xion can only talk away one.
QWhat if I shared this with the friends who played the characters my characters missed and now they want to join the game? Can I get extra invites?
A Any character who had a statue of them... you may invite the player without it counting as one of your invites for the month If you use the invite no later than 11:59pm EST June 30th, and the thread has progressed to the point where the statue has been removed by that IRL date. (If you need an extension those may be approved on a case by case basis, just ask the Mod-squad directly.)
QMy character is in Auradon/On The Isle but started in the other location, which statues do I use?
AEither the statues for the location the character currently is in, or a mix of the two if you want. But the results and way to remove them will remain locked to the location the character is currently in.

Canon Update And Gifting Event GIFT REGISTRY!!!
Hoo-Hoo! It is gifting time! Everyone currently in game is getting something, and while originally the plan was that those updating would get the biggest/most impactful gifts, the reality is that real life and some communications breakdowns meant that the Mod-squad was making most of the gift list before knowing for certain who was updating so... Everyone is getting something bigger than originally intended.
Gifts were mostly chosen based on 2 criteria:
1 - Would it have emotional impact?
2 - Would it push characters into RP, hopefully with people they don't interact with often?
If the answer to either was yes, then it was probably a gift that would survive edits. If both were yes... Where possible the mod-squad went with both are yes. So yeah, some gifts might be a little confusing to the people who get them. And some gifts will only be truly understood when shared with others. And at least one of y'all got an implied quest to go on!
Also if there is any character whose gift I did not post here, I may have just lost it in my notes as a lot is going on IRL, so please feel free to poke Chicklet-mod on plurk, on Discord, or just message this journal.
Without further ado, please look for your character in the posts below, sorted by where they are after the most recent Isle trip as far as the Mod-Squad is aware.

Canon Update And Gifting Event!
Hullo all my lovely Missrecalled and Misery-called players! And greetings to all Wishfulls! The April Event is coming up fast and there are a few things all y'all need to know for plotting!
The first is that the event officially starts on April 21st! Which means apps for characters who want to be in game for the event need to be in by April 17th at latest.
Why am I linking apps to the event, one wonders? Well one need wonder no longer! The reasoning is 2 fold -
For one, the event's first part is all about canon updating! It is a great time for those who started earlier in canon to have a chance to jump ahead all at once! So if someone wants to play through the trauma of "WAH! SUDDEN AGE UP!" without lingering in the early canon point for too long, this is a great time to app! All the benefits of a canon update without all that pesky emotional investment in the younger self!
And for another... Everyone will be getting gifts in the second part of the event! (Both parts will drop in the same post, on the same day.) What they get however depends on a few factors. Gifts will ideally be chosen off of a characters' wishlist. If there is no wishlist for the character or there is nothing of the proper tier on the wishlist, the mod-squad retains all rights to get.... creative.
So... what are these factors that change what level of giftie your characters get? So glad you asked! One will be general activity. More active characters are more likely to get a better gift. It is a small game, even with AC being check in only.... >.> The Mod Squad has a pretty good idea of who has been active recently!
Another is if your character is canon updating! That boosts the gift!
Another way is invites! If you invited someone who has been accepted to the game between the last Isle visit and the event app deadline of April 17th, both players get a bigger gift for one character each! (And to facilitate this, everyone who passed their check in for March gets THREE invites for April!)
Also, returning players/characters who app by the 17th get a boost to their gift as well!
So... There we have it! Character level ups and gifties! Oh... and the Isle may or may not have a bit of a mold problem that may or may not have been caused by a certain animatronic's trauma induced OCD... So, you know, there is that too!
Please use the spaces provided below to let the Mod-Squad know if you are going to canon update any of your characters (and if they need new journals for the update) and if you update or add a wishlist between April 6th and the cut off deadline which will be April 19th (To give new players a chance to post one)
Alright! That's it from the Mod-squad for now! Go forth and plot!
(Oh and before anyone asks, yes you may indeed canon update to include CRAU memories!)

Misunderstood - OOC info and plotting place
Hello, all!
This event is going to be a little weird, even by Missrecalled standards.
The inspiration for this event is the Star Trek The Next Generation episode Darmok.
For those unfamiliar with the episode, it can be seen on Paramount+ or you can watch an abridged version (for free) here.
The short version is this: The crew finds a species that speaks only in allusions to stories in their cultural history. They wouldn't say "I have failed" they would say "Shaka, when the walls fell." All the sentences are short. There are very few verbs, and very few adjectives. There is nearly always the name of a place or a person.
In this way, very simple sentences can explain and express complex concepts and situations. For example "Darmok and Jalad at Tanagra" is said to express that in similar danger with a mutual enemy can an alliance or friendship be forged. The larger chain for that, for those curious is as follows:
"Darmok on the ocean. Jalad on the ocean. Tanagra on the ocean. Darmok at Tanagra. Darmok and Jalad at Tanagra. The beast at Tanagra. Darmok and Jalad on the ocean"
That is the full story as it is told of how Darmok and Jalad each arrived at the island Tanagra separately, together faced a beast, and then left together as friends or at least as companions.
Rarely are more than one sentence be put together this way, however. This made communication with the Enterprise crew... interesting.
But what does this have to do with Missrecalled?
Whelp, something in the translation magic is going to have a biiiiit of a break down starting on February 21st 2025. First is the written word. Poor King Ben is not going to be happy to find that every book in the library has become utterly illegible. All writing of any sort - old, new, in books, in spray paint on a wall, on a page - looks blurred and drippy and utterly unreadable. As though someone changed all the script into a language no one looking at knows and then made all the ink run.
Trying to write, the writing will look like the same running ink as soon as anyone starts.
Speaking... well people can speak. But they will find that what they are trying to say is not what actually comes out of their mouth. Whoops. Someone trying to say "I don't know what is going on" might instead say "Buzz, not a toy."
Because the basis behind all of this is... Pixar films! In place of the grand stories the Tamarians had in Trek, we have Pixar! This includes all animated Pixar movies, as well as the shorts. But not behind the scenes interviews.
Of course, characters know their own stories and those can also be used. For example if someone is trying to express that they will always be there for someone else, they might say "Sora, his Heart open" if they are from Kingdom Hearts. But remember... Just because 2 people know the same story does not mean they feel the same way about it. Someone else might try to express the same thing but say "Sora, his Heart full".
Please avoid any character using their own name or the name of anyone in the conversation. So Lea couldn't say "Lea on the rooftop with three ice creams" to remind Roxas and Xion that they are his friends, but he could say "Sunset with ice cream".
Also, where possible the shorter the sentence, the better. Let's get super creative with this!
There is however an easy mode. For the players only. This is supposed to be really hard on the characters, but to keep this from killing us the players, we have a bit of a hint you can give. Hover text! The hovertext code (With thanks to secret helper mod of secrets) is:
This will let you put the translation in the hovertext so the person you are playing with can hover to see if they don't have the spoons to parse it themselves OOC. Use of hovertext is completely optional, but if you choose not to use it, OOC communication is highly recommended.

Hello, everyone!
I'm Mel, and I'm bringing in a very young Vash from the new Trigun: Stampede! He's got some elements of his backstory filled out from the manga, where the new anime didn't have time to go into detail, but for the most part, he's just a very young, inexperienced little guy. And I mean very young. He looks like he's around 16 or so, but he's actually only about 6, so he's fully capable of holding an intelligent conversation, but he doesn't have the numerical years behind him to give him as much worldly experience as one might think. That's ok, though. He's more than made up for it by living in an apocalyptic disaster-effected civilization of stranded crash survivors! It's fine! And don't even get him started on the Mommy Issues!
I do have a permissions post up because his life is actually really dark, for anyone who's canon-blind. He's got some pretty bad mental health issues that could be upsetting to some if they were to come up, and I don't want to drop that in anyone's lap if it's something they want to avoid! He also has telepathy, so you can let me know if that's something you want to avoid, but he probably won't be using it much regardless.
Other than that, he just tries his best to be a ray of sunshine and help everyone who's in need, so the fact that he's starting off on the Isle means he'll probably be spending a lot of time working his little fingers to the bone to make things better, I'm sure!
(Also for some reason, even though I'm logged onto his account, the previews are showing up as being logged into my account for adult manga Vash, so hopefully this shows up from the right account. >8[??? If not, I'll...idk, make a comment from the proper account or something???)

ANNIVERSARY EVENT IS HERE!!
Holy wow, our second anniversary! How has that even happened?! Thank you all so much for these wonderful years so far!
For some, anniversaries are a time to look back. For some it is a time to look forward. For a second anniversary, why not both?
But wait, how will both work? What kind of weirdo event could involve looking forward and back at the same time?!
This one, of course!
In this event, each character's future is able to send memories back to their younger selves. These will not be whole scenes. Actually they won't be super useful. They will, in fact, be super confusing. Each glimpse is a glimpse, no more.
Again: None of these will not be a full scenes. In fact unless the scenery is necessary to make the glimpse even more puzzling there will be none. Some glimpses will be from the character's point of view (meaning the character's future self isn't visible) and some will be from a veiw point that includes the character. Not every character in the scene will be there, necessarily. and no glimpse should last more than a half minute.
Again, the point of this is to be a cryptic glimpse, a confusion. Fun for the players far more than from the characters.
In fact for those who started their time in this game on the Isle this will be very unfun. Their glimpses should be not just more confusing, but nearly always should be upsetting glimpses. Seeing themselves with someone they hate, for example. Or seeing someone they love in terrible danger.
Wait, did I just say people who started their time in game on the Isle? YEP! You read that right. This event doesn't care if the character is currently in Auradon or on the Isle. The variable factor is instead where the character started!
A twist! I know!
So happy glimpses for the most part for those who started in Auradon and unhappy ones for those who first arrived on the Isle.
Further - some characters in game are in game at the end of their canon. Either for themselves (as in they are dead) or in total. Well, that is where the bonus fun comes in! Because the characters are here now. Their fates may well have been changed because of it! This includes head canoning them staying in this world, or jumping to another world with another game. Or maybe they went home, and shockingly were still alive there. Somehow because they were here.
Okay so lets see, we covered that the bad glimpses go mostly to those who appeared first on the Isle, and good ones to those who started in Auradon. And we know how we can handle anyone who is at the end of their canon if they want to. What else is left?
The order.
As much as is reasonably possible, these glimpses should happen in chronological order, starting from as soon as they return to their world (or for those staying in this world when the game ends, figure about 10 years as the start point to keep from creating headcanons that conflict too wildly). As for where they stop...
You are hereby advised NOT to go to the last possible canon point - whatever that may be for you - because part two... will be using that last moment. More details will come for that when the second half drops.
For now, the best way to think of it is that your character's future self is trying to send memories back to their younger selves, but the connection is worse than voice chat on Discord when everyone on the call is doing falsetto voices. But they're not going to show their current moment, they're building to it.
Please note that all the usual rules for the game apply and these future memory snippets are subject to the same magical censoring, though you could feel free to have the "transmission" just cut out over the whole of the swear word, rather than replacing it.
Alright! If you have questions, leave them below.

Plotting Post For The Wish Event!
HELLO, ALL MISSRECALLED, MISERY-CALLED, AND WISHFULLS!
Here is the plotting place for the October main event in Auradon and on the Isle.
So what is there to plot about? WISHES!
YES, WISHES!
No, they cannot solve the plot. There will be limits. And for those on the Isle...
There will be a twist and a price.
A few limits you can plot around now, while you wait for the full event to drop:
For Auradon - the effects of the wishes will only last for three days. If someone wishes for someone to be there, you better be prepared to NPC them, lol.
For the Isle - the event will last 2 weeks. But each wish will need to be posted on a specially prepared OOC post, waiting for the Mod-squad to corrupt the wish in fun and horrible ways.
For both, presume someone else will be there when your character makes their wishes. So feel free to plot here for that!
(Sorry for the slapdash nature of this post, dropping it early due to the possibility of not having power on the day this was meant to drop.)

Auradon's got talent!
So, in case some folks have forgotten- which knowing us, is likely- this upcoming month will feature a talent show log as a mini-event! It's not mandatory that your character perform, of course, but ideally we'd like to get as many folks as possible. Now, the reason for this little reminder post is largely to find out who all's participating and what their acts are going to be, so I can write up a little intro for each act from Sylv, who'll be acting as MC for the show.
So step right up and don't be shy! So everyone that Auradon's Got Talent!

Questions And Answers For The Wish Event
Whoa! Wishes?! Really? So we can just... solve the plot now, right? It started with a wish so our wishes can fix everything... Right?
Where would the fun be in that?
No, these wishes are not quite that strong. In fact, each is a small fraction of the strength of the original lamp, for each lamp has only a fraction of a genie's power. So it has enough power for a weekend of wishes, but no more.
So what does this mean? For good or for ill:
Each lamp can be used only once
Whatever the effects of the lamp they cannot last more than the weekend.
Each lamp is good for one wish and one wish only. Waste it and it is still used.
There are also some additional factors for each side, of course.
♥Each character can find a maximum of one lamp with their own name on it. They may only get one lamp per other character they thread with, maximum. Each character may only find one lamp per character for another character. (so for example Mallia could find one for Sylvando and one for Morgana, but could not find two for Mograna or Sylvando)
♥The lamps you find will only have the name of someone currently in Auradon.
♥If you wish for the ways to clear, sorry it can't do that, the mess will just, well... turn sort of clear in a small area. And that uses up the wish.
♥If you wish to go home, instead of going home your dorm room will look like the space you consider your own for the remainder of the weekend.
♥If you wish someone was there, a faint ghostly version of them will arrive (you may NPC them) for the remainder of the weekend. But anything they change will revert when the magic ends at the end of the weekend.
♥If you wish for more wishes - the first time you will find two lamps with other people's names on it. Wishing for that again will give just a poof of smoke the colour of the lamp and nothing else will happen. Except the wish was used up.
♥If you wish for food, you can get food, but anything that isn't eaten by the end of the weekend will vanish. But anything you are eating at the very end will remain with you - you will have actually have eaten it!
★Each character can find a maximum of one lamp with their own name on it. They may only get one lamp per other character they thread with, maximum. Each character may only find one lamp per character for another character.
★The lamps you find will only have the name of someone currently on The Isle
★Wishes come true, not free. And these wishes... come with a catch. Any wish your character wants to make, please reply to the post below for the Mod Squad to tell you how the wish was twisted.
★The wishes and their effects wear off at the end of the weekend
★If you try to wish Yen Sid awake, he will wake up for the weekend, with no memory of what happened, and collapse again at the end of the weekend. Giving you that one as a freebie.

Once Upon An Event - Plotting post
A new event is coming, and you may all blame the Chell/Mallia player for it. I was getting ready to announce this month's event and then BOOM. Insperation.
So BOOM.
Incoming event!
On the Isle side: Boom... is the word. Things are about to go boom. I wrote the event based on Yen Sid still being out like a light and the crocodile from last month's event still being on the loose... if anything changes before the event drops to either of those situations, PLEASE LET CHICKLET-MOD KNOW ASAP! And no, that is not a hint there will also be an asp loose. This month, anyway.
Auradon side:
With the winter holidays coming to an end, why not one last holiday and story time? Once upon a time, someone realized that many of the worlds the Missrecalled are coming from have similar stories. So to ring in the new year with a bang, let's share some fairytales and history!
By the by, this is a really good time to enable anyone who plays characters from fairy tales to join the game if they'd be likely to come to the Auradon side! Event drops on Tuesday the 24th, so apps to bring someone in on time must be posted by Wednesday the 18th! Please make sure anyone new to game reserves and that you comment on their reserve. People already in game do not need to reserve if they do not want to!
Please feel free to use the space below to plot what stories will be shared. I know at least one player :: Cough Sail Cough :: is chomping at the bit to do so!

Bonus AC poll
Okay so... As the announcement said, the Mod-squad has been working on the bonus AC system. But Chicklet-mod and helper-mod have come to a point where we're not sure where to go from here. So.... asking people here to post to vote, or give other options, or what have you.
- So here are the options on the table as things stand:
- 1 - Leave things as they are
- 2 - Leave things as they are, except that players tally their own points and the mods only spot check as they have the strength.
- 3 - Change the bonus AC so that it counts only top levels you make or your first tag in, so it is more complicated to learn what counts (but there would be a form you could use) but has no counting.
- 4 - No bonus AC. Check in only and Mod finds another way to gift items and reward the points already earned.
- 5 - No bonus AC. Check in only. No more wishlists.
- 6 - Wait, what about (put in your other ideas here, please!)

So, the new event is coming and you guys get a sneak peek into what it is so that you can start planning!
So, first thing first...
There is a special event coming up! Everyone will be given the chance to exchange gifts. But with such short notice, where will they get these gifts?! Oh no! Oh wait - Bonus Points to the rescue! For this event you can use your Bonus AC points to buy gifts for other characters!

Now.... for
Is what is coming a gift or a problem? I suppose that depends how good you are at fighting in small tight quarters... But just remember... Never Smile At A Crocodile, you never know who might have the last laugh.
Also... has anyone seen Professor Yen Sid recently????
June and July's bonus AC will be calculated soon, so keep an eye out for any bonus points you may have earned. And if you want, the mod squad can do August's early to give all y'all the points you earned early. Just let Chicklet-mod know via Plurk or Discord, and if enough of all y'all want that, the mod-squad will work to make it snow. Er... So. To make it so.
Love you all!

Once Upon A Chill In The Air - Announcement and Plotting Place!
Hello to all the wonderful Missrecalled and Misery-called out there. Sorry that this is so late in the month for what it is, but health issues mixed with this being a really involved event to write...
Remember that part where events were going to be simpler? Well there is this thing where I am very very bad at that...
Aaaaaaanyway.....
Given the complexity of this event, Two things are happening! One is that you are getting a lot more info than usual before the event as well as a plotting place! The other is that part of the event is going to carry over into July. That is for Isle and Auradon both. The Isle side of the event might continue to bleed past July, but that will be player driven and there will be other things happening as well even if it does. Probably. Maybe. I might have to shift the calendar around if this isn't resolved by August, lol.
Right! So! I should give all y'all an idea of what to expect so you can plot, right? Of course right! Before I slide into singing Matchmaker, here we go!
Isle Side -
You're going to be feeling the loss of a certain child detective keenly, he would have been of help here.... Oh also the loss of heaters. And hot food. And fire places. And access to be beach. YEAH. You all are getting snowed into the school, and with a lot less warning than Auradon got. And while you're all trapped and snugged in... Um.... >.> Something is gonna go boom.
Auradon Side -
Hello, my dear Missrecalled. You were all warned about the snow. Well here it comes. More than expected. Oaken's Trading Post and Restaurant will be - like the rest of the museum district - closed. Even magic is going to make getting out of the interior parts of the school very very difficult.
But the King and Queen have prepared a number of entertainments and other things to keep people busy and hopefully from going after one another while in such close quarters. While there will be lots of options, some things require more plotting than others.
Especially the one that no one intended.
See the royals planned to ask everyone to share stories of Winter traditions, Winter games, Winter holidays and Winter memories... And that will happen.
They didn't expect that after a week or so of that some of those memories might just... come to life...
YEP! Memory share! But this one is far more voluntary. Other than the first one or two, everyone will have a pretty good idea that it is going to happen and can IC opt out. Because it will happen when they start telling their stories.
Unlike most memory shares, lying and hiding information can 100% work, but it will take mental effort and leave the teller feeling exhausted after.
The memory share will unfold like a holographic play overlaying the room where the stories are being shared. They can be seen through, and cannot be interacted with unless the teller works hard to make them interactive, which will also leave them exhausted.
Below there will be a sign up for stories and memory shares to get their own TLs! You do not need to sign up to share memories, but it is requested if you want a Mod crafted TL for you!
For Everyone
ALRIGHT! So there we go! There will be places below for Sign Ups, Questions, NPC requests, and Plotting! The event will be starting on Friday the 21st! Any apps for characters you or your friends want in play MUST BE IN before the 18th in order to join in the start of the event and get a sharing header if the character starts in Auradon.
ONE OTHER MAJOR NOTE! UNTIL STATED OTHERWISE, ALL NEW ARRIVALS WILL ARRIVE IN THE RESPECTIVE SCHOOLS! Okay, I'll shut up now.
Love you all!
Mod Squad OUT!

The Exchange Rate
River Song has left Auradon to stay on the Isle.
Doctor Facilier. now has a new spider hidden under his hat.
And Roxas has headed to Auradon!
What is happening in Auradon?
The cold weather and the snow just barely lost it's chance to race you all back. Going outside is foolish at this point and as of the start of the event it will be actively and swiftly dangerous.
What is happening On The Isle?
It is also getting painfully cold outside and the snow is starting to pile up. Because the basement is still somewhat flooded the new supplies are being locked up somewhere upstairs. Yen Sid has not told anyone where, just asked people to bring him their requests and he will see to them in a timely manner. Other from that he is busy working on Antifreeze and other useful chemicals to help them survive the winter. He has suggested that people catch as much of the snow as they safely can as potable water once it melts. If it ever gets warm enough to melt...
What is coming?
A full plotting post will be dropped soon! But to give you a little heads up what to start thinking on and plotting, here are a few early things I can leak:
Auradon - You'll want to be prepared for your characters to share stories, traditions, and games that have to do with winter and winter holidays.
The Isle - Survival mode is going to get harder. You may want to start thinking about winter preparations and survival methods. Also classes will be resuming upon request. Have something you want to pester a teacher over? Time to give it some thought!

OOC companion to the May 2024 event
Hello all! This is just a small space for people to discuss who is planning to stay on the Isle, and who is going to Auradon, so it can be plotted even before threads end. There will also be a header for NPC requests and one for questions! Thank you all for your patience.

ZappNotes - 1
Welcome to a new feature of the game, Missrecalled!
ZappNotes will be a place where there may be:
Small updates about how things may have changed since the last event
Subtle hints leading to the next event
A place to request NPC interactions
A place for plotting for the next event
A place where you can post threads you want more attention to, to advertise your own posts!
A place where you can post what your character has been up to since the last event, and where you can discuss handwaved things.
An OOC place to just chat.
This may vary from post to post, as we try out this new feature and figure out how it will best serve the game. I will do my best to keep these short and sweet, and you are welcome to use this space or not use this space as you see fit. Part of the idea is to give you guys ideas for what is happening in the game so you can make TLs between events if you want.
------------------------------------
Alright, so on for this first Zappnote!
What is happening in Auradon?
The weather is getting colder. There has been some snow already, but nothing dangerous. Yet. But Ben's warning seems to be proving wise as the weather worsens. The trip to the Isle will have to be soon or not at all. King Ben has given everyone the date (Irl Saturday the 18th)for the trip, and told them to be ready.
What is happening on the Isle?
The rain was really bad for a while. It has tapered down to a disgusting irritable drizzle. Still too wet to go out, too wet for the school to dry out. But at least people can go out to fish again. Not that much dryer indoors at this point anyway. Then again, the rain may have chased many of the fish deeper under the water. And the predators closer to the shore.

April Plotting Place!
To simplify things for Chicklet-mod, we're going to see if plotting posts where I give teasers helps get people excited about events. And maybe helps me to not be burned out on an event when it drops, lol.
So plotting post for April!
Auradon Side: Spoiler alert: This thread is going to be super relevant! And because of how time works in this game, go ahead and post in it now if you want. This has been going on since the event started. Sewing and crocheting and teaching and learning can be said to have been ongoing this whole time, so even people who joined after, or who were on hiatus during this can jump on in!
Also, if anyone here knows how to do magic to create things or give reality to something... You may be needed. For reasons. >.>
Isle Side: You know that if the coming event was in Auradon it would be very much like this. But this is the Isle, so it will probably be more like this. You may have to learn to ....
(Warning, the last link has one single non-game appropriate word.)
But at least it can't get worse, right...?

GAME CHANGES AS OF APRIL SECOND, 2024
Hello, all Missrecalled, Misery-called, and Wishfuls! As many of you may know, the game is undergoing some changes, including going from two full time mods to one mod and one helper mod.
To keep from burning out Chicklet-mod as they try to make this game as much fun as is possible, there will be some temporary changes to the game.
Apps. For one, there is now only going to be one mod reading apps, and handling mod contact, and FAQ. If you disagree with a response or ruling you can request that Chicklet-mod gain other opinions. Please do not abuse this. If you so ask, Chicklet will do their best to pick people who know both the game and your character's canon who are as little biased as possible as to the issue before it is asked. This will generally be two to three people maximum, and Chicklet will not disclose who those people are. Their responses will be advice, but the final choice will be the mod's. Please be understanding with regards to this.
Events are going to be simpler. There has undeniably been burn out on the mod team. And while I will not speak for Tanks, for myself (Chicklet-mod) by the time an event gets posted, we have spent so long plotting it, writing it, tweaking it, refining it, and tweaking it some more... I'm as done with the event as if I have been RPing threads in it for a month. So part of trying to make this more fun for all, the events will be simpler for the time being, in hopes that I get to play too. And also because without a second mod to sanity check me, the chances I make a serious typo or error go up with length and complexity. So hopefully shorter events will be relatively error free.
Meta-plot things will be slowed, though not stopped. I do not feel I can run the whole metaplot on my own currently, but have faith that at some point it will be able to resume, so I will do my best not to contradict it. Just expect hints to be fewer and further between for the moment. Also this may push off the schedule for things like the anniversary. Especially as that falls out during Chicklet-mod's busy time.
Encanto Event But what of Encanto? Sadly the Encanto event was written to be very large and complex. As such it will be put on the shelf for now. But quite a bit of it is written, and it is still planned for a future update!
TDMS What about TDMs. I wanna give Tanks all the credit for TDMs, because Tanks was undeniably the MVP when it came to writing TDMs, and actually getting them up at a reasonable pace. I am going to do my best for y'all. If you ever feel like you want to post to a TDM, but worry that the current one is too old, please feel free to poke the contact a mod area and leave me a message and it will get put near the top of my To Do List.
IC and Setting What about IC changes? And setting info? Anything there? Yes. A lot here, actually. For one thing, the dream of this game was always that this was going to very very player driven game, both for events and for pacing of the metaplot. And that is still something I still want to do, but it is really terrifying to contemplate doing solo. So while I will try to work player actions into events when I can... that is going to be more of a last minute addition to something pre-written and less "WE NEED TO REWRITE THIS WHOLE SECTION BECAUSE CHARACTER X DID A THING!". To start, at least, more events will be prewritten and scheduled in advance. A lot of why events were late was trying to rewrite things at the last minute. Working solo, I need to sadly do less. So while I very much want your characters to DO ALL THE AWESOME THINGS, please contact Chicklet-mod if your character is planning to do something that may have event-level impact so that I can work it in if at all possible. If not I may have to ask you to hold off or come up with a reason it doesn't work yet. But I will do my best to still allow for all the cool things.
Some of this is going to change IC in that events are going to be more structured to make it more natural seeming that the events will be simpler and more in line with the new way of things. For one thing the exploration is going to be slowed. OOCly, this is because of me having to mod mostly alone, but also because with having lost some characters recently, we have more space than we need for the current population. ICly, well... it's getting colder. And no one knows what a magical winter will be like. So to be cautious, King Ben and Queen Mal will ask those who have been living in the museum district to come back to the dorms for now, and events on the Auradon side and Isle side both will be more focused on preparing for Winter. So there will be less time for exploring, and more concern in danger to perhaps go off so far on their own. So if you need an IC reason for why your character is leaving off exploring, this can be it.
As a reminder, this game is not at 1 IC day = 1 OOC day. Time is more wibbly wobbly, timey-wimey. So even though we are heading to Spring IRL, it is Autumn in the game, and Winter may be long. But there are lots of fun events that can be done with the cold, and we didn't do all that much with the seasons changing last year. So this is an opportunity to experience a new sort of game play!
NPCS So, there will be a biiiig change to NPCs. Sylvando will be remaining in game, and will still have his same IC post. But he will no longer be an NPC, and Tanks will often be as surprised by the events as the rest of you! Mallia will become a sort of NPC, though Sail will often only know about events a day or two ahead of everyone else at best, so NPC posts can be written for Mallia.
As part of being an NPC, Mallia will be preparing food on the regular, breakfast as usual and possibly a second meal during the day. There is also an upcoming event with Mallia and Mal working together with anyone else interested in trying to figure out a better magical food solution. If there are going to be days that Mallia will not be providing food, I will do my best to make a mod announcement ASAP, so people can factor it into their plots and threads.
And on the Isle side... To be fully honest, Yen Sid is the hardest NPC I have, and playing him solo is terrifying. An event soon will be taking him out for a short time, just to give myself a chance to get my feet under me before I have to run him solo. But it will be temporary, promise. Just the Isle NPCs were always shared, so now they'll all be Chicklet's. Please go easy on me, my friends!
Rules Only minor changes, thankfully. We'll be putting up a new page. But one of the biggest changes is that some larger things will be able to be brought in both to start and in Bonus AC gains. This was restricted because it would make exploration a little too easy, but with that eased, some larger items/summons will be welcome in game. Though some that are too large may find themselves size nerfed. As to how these things will maintain after the game goes back to a more active mode, they will be able to be grandfathered in, though the mod team of that time may have to work with the players to find ways to keep the oversized items and creatures from breaking the game. I will ask that people be reasonable with them, even now though.
Aesthetics I should warn you, posts may be less pretty. Tanks did a lot of our code. And while Tanks and Sail have both offered to help at times, I'm going to try not to overburden them. So... I'll be doing my best with my utter lack of skills. Please bear with me.
Anyway, that's about it for now. Changes go into effect April 2nd. Any characters apped before then will be judged based on the new rules but will not enter the game until after the second. But a character may be apped in March without counting against April. The questions waiting on mods will be responded with regards to this post, based on the new situation, very soon after this has posted. If this has been up for Twenty Four hours or more and your question has not been answered, please poke Chicklet-mod. If you need an NPC that you didn't get for a thread, also please poke Chicklet-mod.
Any questions based on this, please post them here. Oh, and even if alone, I will still use The Mod Squad for sign offs, cause I like it. :D
Thank you all, love you all so much and appreciate you all.

Difficult Decisions
Hey all. Your mods here. Bit of a serious topic, and we really could use your feedback. Good, bad or indifferent.
As many of you know, Chicklet-mod has been having some bad health issues recently that has made modding slow quite a bit. And perhaps because of that, or perhaps for other reasons, the game has slowed to a crawl.
We have one or two active players, but almost no one else seems to be posting. We are more than happy to keep modding - and hopefully be better about pacing and timing - if people still want to play. But we are a very small player base and we just got smaller still.
So we need to know... do those of you still in the game still want there to be a game? And if so, what would you like to see change? What needs to happen to make you want to be more engaged? What do you want to see more of? Or less of?
If you are not in the game, but are considering joining, what would help you want to join more?
And if you are in the game and think the game should close, please tell us why.
Seriously, any feedback will help.
Right now, we see a few possibilities before us:
Continue as planned, just keep going
Continue with modifications based on feedback
Hiatus the whole game and mothball it for a while
End the game and thank everyone for the fun times we had in our year and change of Missrecalled.
So... what do you guys think? We love you all, and want to do what is best for all of you. Even if that means pausing or stopping.
Thank you.
