Info and plotting for the big May Events!

Wow. Have we ever announced an event this early in advance? Well hold on to your hats, cause we're dropping hints about June too! WHOA!

Alright, so let's get to it.


So, in addition to mini events that may or may not happen, on Thursday May 11th a one week long mother's day event will be starting. While we're not going to spoil the details yet, we want to give you guys enough to plot on... and enough time to plot.

After all, a non-traditional memory share takes as much prep time as a regular memory share, doesn't it?

The memory share will involve character's maternal figures. This can be biological mothers, adoptive mothers, found families...

In general, people in Auradon should look towards plotting generally pleasant memories. On the Isle? I'm sure some of you can find some utter... nightmare fuel.

(And I am sure you all can extrapolate what we are planning for June >.>)

While we won't spoil some of the fun secrets we are plotting (like what do we mean this isn't a typical memshare event...) we are happy to answer other questions if you have them!

We hope you have fun, and remember... there is still enough time to app before the event if this really tickles your fancy for someone you were considering....

This is a place to ask your questions... but first let's answer some of the ones we are anticipating:

♥ My character has a non-binary parental figure! How would that work?


Player's choice! This does not mean anyone thinks you are claiming the parental figure is male or female. It just means you have options! Either. Both. Neither! Up to you!

♥Is there a way to opt out?

Absolutely!

♥What if I'm in Auradon and want a negative memory or on the Isle you want a positive one?

Go for it. This is a suggestion for thematic purposes, you are not tied to it! I mean we all know Mal's not going to have happy memories of her mother... (Also don't count on seeing her on Father's day. At all.)

♥My character's mother/father is in game! Halp!

Sounds like you guys are going to have some fun plotting then! :D (If there are issues, feel free to message the mods, of course.)

♥My character has multiple personalities, which memories are shared? Will this give away secret identities?

Memories will be shared based on the form the character is in when the memory share is triggered. So if that form doesn't have parents, nothing will happen. If they do the memory will be with those parents in that form.

♥Can characters other than the parent be in the memory?

Sure, but if they are in play, check with the player first please.

All right, who'd be interested in stuff about being a caterpillar, and maybe getting randomly preened on by a butterfly? Or possibly something about one of the butterflies nearby helping the newest one whose point of view it is out of their cocoon?

Auradon -

Kyoko's mom.... yeah this is going to be bad. CW for abuse/neglect levels of bad. I'll write it up, but fully not expecting anyone to actually engage. Her mother neglected her and blamed her and hated her. But I might do one memory of the last time she saw her mother. Not the whole scene where she learned why she had always been despised and why she doesn’t have a father... but the part where a tentative peace of a sort descended.


Mal - Anyone wanna see Descendants Maleficent? Of course you do! Will probably be starting with the dragon attack at coronation, but almost certainly doing some stuff from the first novel as well.

Now that we got the sad people in the happy place out of the way...

Aqua has no one, but will happily spend time with others who need someone to talk to.

Nadeshiko will share memories of dance lessons with her mother, including one her best friend attended the first time she was ever able to have a sleep over.

Nagi, if I TL him... probably a memory of him and his mother on the airplane. Not sure to study abroad or back to Japan yet. Will only do a Nagi TL if people are interested, probably.

Isle:

Xion... has no one. >.< Feel free to drag her into your angst >.>

River... will hav gun and violence and possibly child abuse CWs, but despite so many memories seeming to be horrible, she will be so happy to revisit the memories, she will likely be smiling. A lot. There will be lots of River memories, and after Mal I think she's the one I'm most looking forward to diving in with this event. Hello, sweetie.

For IC and OOC reasons, I am opting Nita out of receiving memories... and she won't be too keen on sharing her own, either.

Her mother was good, and she may well talk about Betty Callahan if anyone asks, but the way she died was, well.

Cancer.

That and Nita had a LOT of baggage from what she went through to even just buy her mother more time; she will not be telling anyone in Auradon about kernels/what little she knows about controlling them.

Well, this could be interesting.

Danny... Well his Mom is over the top and enthusiastic and loving and an expert at death by parental embarrassment.... but even his happy memories of her are going to be touching on the part where shes a ghost hunter and ghost scientist who is equally as enthusiastic about hunting down his ghost side and destroying and/or experimenting on him. Memory shares are going to be... interesting.

Conan... has his fake mother that he invented. But this event will likely bring in his actual mother. A globetrotting retired actress who pops in occasionally to play pranks on him or kidnap him into vacations. I'm sure nightmare fuel will be great.

River and Conan can bond over lies. OMG, if Conan is one of the few if not the only who sees a memory of River bing a child while her mother is a child... so much confusion. :D
