GAME CHANGES AS OF APRIL SECOND, 2024

Hello, all Missrecalled, Misery-called, and Wishfuls! As many of you may know, the game is undergoing some changes, including going from two full time mods to one mod and one helper mod.
To keep from burning out Chicklet-mod as they try to make this game as much fun as is possible, there will be some temporary changes to the game.
Apps. For one, there is now only going to be one mod reading apps, and handling mod contact, and FAQ. If you disagree with a response or ruling you can request that Chicklet-mod gain other opinions. Please do not abuse this. If you so ask, Chicklet will do their best to pick people who know both the game and your character's canon who are as little biased as possible as to the issue before it is asked. This will generally be two to three people maximum, and Chicklet will not disclose who those people are. Their responses will be advice, but the final choice will be the mod's. Please be understanding with regards to this.
Events are going to be simpler. There has undeniably been burn out on the mod team. And while I will not speak for Tanks, for myself (Chicklet-mod) by the time an event gets posted, we have spent so long plotting it, writing it, tweaking it, refining it, and tweaking it some more... I'm as done with the event as if I have been RPing threads in it for a month. So part of trying to make this more fun for all, the events will be simpler for the time being, in hopes that I get to play too. And also because without a second mod to sanity check me, the chances I make a serious typo or error go up with length and complexity. So hopefully shorter events will be relatively error free.
Meta-plot things will be slowed, though not stopped. I do not feel I can run the whole metaplot on my own currently, but have faith that at some point it will be able to resume, so I will do my best not to contradict it. Just expect hints to be fewer and further between for the moment. Also this may push off the schedule for things like the anniversary. Especially as that falls out during Chicklet-mod's busy time.
Encanto Event But what of Encanto? Sadly the Encanto event was written to be very large and complex. As such it will be put on the shelf for now. But quite a bit of it is written, and it is still planned for a future update!
TDMS What about TDMs. I wanna give Tanks all the credit for TDMs, because Tanks was undeniably the MVP when it came to writing TDMs, and actually getting them up at a reasonable pace. I am going to do my best for y'all. If you ever feel like you want to post to a TDM, but worry that the current one is too old, please feel free to poke the contact a mod area and leave me a message and it will get put near the top of my To Do List.
IC and Setting What about IC changes? And setting info? Anything there? Yes. A lot here, actually. For one thing, the dream of this game was always that this was going to very very player driven game, both for events and for pacing of the metaplot. And that is still something I still want to do, but it is really terrifying to contemplate doing solo. So while I will try to work player actions into events when I can... that is going to be more of a last minute addition to something pre-written and less "WE NEED TO REWRITE THIS WHOLE SECTION BECAUSE CHARACTER X DID A THING!". To start, at least, more events will be prewritten and scheduled in advance. A lot of why events were late was trying to rewrite things at the last minute. Working solo, I need to sadly do less. So while I very much want your characters to DO ALL THE AWESOME THINGS, please contact Chicklet-mod if your character is planning to do something that may have event-level impact so that I can work it in if at all possible. If not I may have to ask you to hold off or come up with a reason it doesn't work yet. But I will do my best to still allow for all the cool things.
Some of this is going to change IC in that events are going to be more structured to make it more natural seeming that the events will be simpler and more in line with the new way of things. For one thing the exploration is going to be slowed. OOCly, this is because of me having to mod mostly alone, but also because with having lost some characters recently, we have more space than we need for the current population. ICly, well... it's getting colder. And no one knows what a magical winter will be like. So to be cautious, King Ben and Queen Mal will ask those who have been living in the museum district to come back to the dorms for now, and events on the Auradon side and Isle side both will be more focused on preparing for Winter. So there will be less time for exploring, and more concern in danger to perhaps go off so far on their own. So if you need an IC reason for why your character is leaving off exploring, this can be it.
As a reminder, this game is not at 1 IC day = 1 OOC day. Time is more wibbly wobbly, timey-wimey. So even though we are heading to Spring IRL, it is Autumn in the game, and Winter may be long. But there are lots of fun events that can be done with the cold, and we didn't do all that much with the seasons changing last year. So this is an opportunity to experience a new sort of game play!
NPCS So, there will be a biiiig change to NPCs. Sylvando will be remaining in game, and will still have his same IC post. But he will no longer be an NPC, and Tanks will often be as surprised by the events as the rest of you! Mallia will become a sort of NPC, though Sail will often only know about events a day or two ahead of everyone else at best, so NPC posts can be written for Mallia.
As part of being an NPC, Mallia will be preparing food on the regular, breakfast as usual and possibly a second meal during the day. There is also an upcoming event with Mallia and Mal working together with anyone else interested in trying to figure out a better magical food solution. If there are going to be days that Mallia will not be providing food, I will do my best to make a mod announcement ASAP, so people can factor it into their plots and threads.
And on the Isle side... To be fully honest, Yen Sid is the hardest NPC I have, and playing him solo is terrifying. An event soon will be taking him out for a short time, just to give myself a chance to get my feet under me before I have to run him solo. But it will be temporary, promise. Just the Isle NPCs were always shared, so now they'll all be Chicklet's. Please go easy on me, my friends!
Rules Only minor changes, thankfully. We'll be putting up a new page. But one of the biggest changes is that some larger things will be able to be brought in both to start and in Bonus AC gains. This was restricted because it would make exploration a little too easy, but with that eased, some larger items/summons will be welcome in game. Though some that are too large may find themselves size nerfed. As to how these things will maintain after the game goes back to a more active mode, they will be able to be grandfathered in, though the mod team of that time may have to work with the players to find ways to keep the oversized items and creatures from breaking the game. I will ask that people be reasonable with them, even now though.
Aesthetics I should warn you, posts may be less pretty. Tanks did a lot of our code. And while Tanks and Sail have both offered to help at times, I'm going to try not to overburden them. So... I'll be doing my best with my utter lack of skills. Please bear with me.
Anyway, that's about it for now. Changes go into effect April 2nd. Any characters apped before then will be judged based on the new rules but will not enter the game until after the second. But a character may be apped in March without counting against April. The questions waiting on mods will be responded with regards to this post, based on the new situation, very soon after this has posted. If this has been up for Twenty Four hours or more and your question has not been answered, please poke Chicklet-mod. If you need an NPC that you didn't get for a thread, also please poke Chicklet-mod.
Any questions based on this, please post them here. Oh, and even if alone, I will still use The Mod Squad for sign offs, cause I like it. :D
Thank you all, love you all so much and appreciate you all.
