Canon Update And Gifting Event GIFT REGISTRY!!!

Hoo-Hoo! It is gifting time! Everyone currently in game is getting something, and while originally the plan was that those updating would get the biggest/most impactful gifts, the reality is that real life and some communications breakdowns meant that the Mod-squad was making most of the gift list before knowing for certain who was updating so... Everyone is getting something bigger than originally intended.

Gifts were mostly chosen based on 2 criteria:

1 - Would it have emotional impact?

2 - Would it push characters into RP, hopefully with people they don't interact with often?

If the answer to either was yes, then it was probably a gift that would survive edits. If both were yes... Where possible the mod-squad went with both are yes. So yeah, some gifts might be a little confusing to the people who get them. And some gifts will only be truly understood when shared with others. And at least one of y'all got an implied quest to go on!

Also if there is any character whose gift I did not post here, I may have just lost it in my notes as a lot is going on IRL, so please feel free to poke Chicklet-mod on plurk, on Discord, or just message this journal.

Gifts for those in Auradon!

King Ben

A collection of books with a long ongoing story from another land. He is eager to find out if anyone is familiar with these stories and can tell him anything about this Death Note and if this story is a true history of a world unknown, or perhaps a work of fiction.

Queen Mal

Mal has a spray painted mattress. She will be taking no questions. At least that is the intent. But someone might be able to find her on the castle roof, spray painting the crenelations, looking like someone who probably doesn't want to talk but... also probably should.

Sylvando

Sylvando got an MP3 player loaded with all the music people introduced him to in SMK, but of course it came with the most extra pair of headphones ever. They are large over the head headphones worked into an elaborate iridescent Jesters' Cap that looks like it is made of plastic, PVC foam, fiberglass, and metal. Not the most comfortable, but not super uncomfortable and the sound quality is great! It also comes with a charging cable and a cable to let him transfer the MP3s to other devices!

Professor Yen Sid

The professor, recovering from what happened to him on the Isle can mostly be found outside reading the new book he received. "Little Timmy And Other Comedic Lessons In Tragic Lab Accidents"

Mallia

Mallia will have found one of the book from her own library, specifically one on growing and breeding different plants!

Lea

Lea will find his toy throwing disks from his childhood. Well... Sort of. For some reason there are three of them now? The third one doesn't have the same logo though. It has an image of several bars of blue coloured ice cream, each with a bite taken out.

Harry

Harry will receive his Robin Hood costume, which may lead to some uncomfortable conversations about cultural appropriation. After all, a human dressing up like an animal folk hero when they so rarely get to be heroes rather than sidekicks in the stories... Still, the ones most likely to talk to him about it probably wont give him too hard a time. Well, Except Mal. Mal might have some fun with giving him a hard time...

Aqua

Aqua will get a new charm for her Keyblade! It looks like a little crown. When equipped she winds up in a blue? Ballgown? For? Some? Reason???? It allows her to jump slightly higher and hover for a few moments when she does, shedding glitter. (and yes she is wearing pants under the dress)

Xion

The drawing Naminé did of her, Axel, and Roxas.

Utau

Utau will find a pale pink and white microphone with angel wings on it, and a not at all matching mike stand in purple and red with little bat wings, and yet they are designed so that as odd as they look together but held separately, the designs actually merge when the mic is in the stand so that the wings on the mic come down to meet the tops of the raised wings on the stand to look like there is a decorated egg on either side that is half dark and half light.

Nadeshiko and Nagihiko

The twins will be sharing one. They will find the Humpty Lock. And all the both powers and anxiety that entails.

Kyoko

Kyoko will be getting a full Mio costume, including violin, wig, and makeup to do her own scar.

Elianne/Kaylin

Hope. No, not the ephemeral sensation. Rather, the small, squawky, and annoying familiar she named Hope in a desperate moment. One she regrets whenever she has to use his actual name in public. His powers will, of course, be nerfed to not break the game. And he will not be happy about the flight limitation!

Roxas

His twilight town clothing. He might find a set of coloured crystal looking balls in one pocket, tucked into a munny pouch.

Prompto

Compared to what some other people are getting it might not seem like much. The small black leather soft sided case that holds 5 feathers; their ends attached to a woven cord that makes a decoration of all five that could be attached to clothing or jewelry. One feather is one of his own from when he was younger. The others? One each from Gladio, Iggy, Noct, and Cor.

Gabriel

A single DVD. Solitude. But despite the name, there is something else tucked into the case. A few photographs. His Adrien. The Adrien he met with Gar and Gar posed together in a world with a weird heart like looking moon thing in the sky, a photo of his wife. A photo of Nathalie. And... one of Ladybug and Chat Noir standing on the Arc De Triumph, a photo with a small watermark on the bottom that says "The Ladyblog". Whatever that is.

Leia

Time for this Princess to take back her power. She'll be getting her SMK pendant. But where the powers it grants from SMK might be nerfed some in Auradon, she might find if she does try practicing with the Force that it comes ever so slightly easier to her when wearing and focusing through the pendant.

Cassidy and Grey

While Grey will find his more or less as everyone else find theirs - his being a wooden box filled with bulbs of the flowers he planted for Cassidy first in Greyhaven and then in Eoyota, with a packet of Blue River seeds - Cassidy's... will not be on her pillow. Because a horse is a horse of course of course and a horse doesn't fit on a bed. (Specifically the horse Kharry raised that was gifted to her and Shira in Eyota.)

Sephiroth

Your gift shall be the mod spelling your name right without the need for copy and paste. ROFL, not really, that will probably never happen. No, his gift is his mother's recipe book. Now if only he knew someone who could help him magic up the ingredients...

Vexen

Did you know magic can be snarky? It can when it comes to coffee mugs! And his comes with snark and a convenient excuse to use whenever he is too lost in research to remember other people exist! The mug itself holds a liter of coffee. Or would if there actually was any coffee with which to fill it. The outside of the mug reads: "If you haven't seen me yet today it is because I haven't emptied this cup yet." and on the inside is a small packet of freeze dried grounds, enough to make a quarter cup of weak coffee. If that.

Hikaru

Hikaru will find a book of game records. Wonderful! Except.... they are all records of games he played on his own. The earliest games he played on his own. And maybe one or so where Sai started playing and Hikaru got stubborn took over and messed it all up. He wanted to relive his worst mistakes, right? On the other hand, he can find something to learn from even these, and it is a good measure of how far he came. Plus he did pay against Akira in a few of these....

Sai

The Go set he had when he was actually alive. Well preserved but... ah... unless he gets help from Mallia... he still can't actually touch any of it.

Spark/Gar

Spark's gift is more of a snark than a gift. A fish plushie. That smells like mouse. Just to be insulting.
Gar, however... Got what seems like a random bunch of small plushies of random people... to anyone who was never in Nautilus. Anyone passing their room might find Gar on the floor, clutching plushies and bawling his eyes out.

Gifts For Those On The Isle

Foulques

He will find his father's lute and a book of songs, none of which are from his world. But there is one song - diegetic or non diegetic - from the canon of everyone he has ever met on the Isle. From Chara's world the song is Meglovania, which on the lute, really just... good luck. (Please ask the your fellow players for what song he has found for their characters! And then feel free to have him find them IC as well!) Please note the songs will be lute arrangements only and have no lyrics. And the sheet music is written how he would read it, which may not match sheet music from other worlds and isn't subject to the translation magic.

Chell

Chell has his childhood blanket waiting for him. It smells like home, and no matter what happens to it, save an event, it will continue to smell like home.

Ian

Speaking of blankets, Ian has a giant size version of their Dark Souls fuzzy blanket that absolutely did not come from Hot Topic. Shut up.

River Song

A fez. With a burn mark across the top like it had been clipped by a bullet.

Sun/Moon

Plushies! Sun and Moon will find a set of 4 plushies that are nearly a foot tall each. One of Sun, one of Moon. Then there are two odd looking ones? But kids will like those, right? There is also a small beanie baby sized plush of each other animatronic they know from home. Less detailed, and a little careworn. But there.

Zuko

A smelly old slipper. Iroh's smelly old slipper. Stuck to the bottom of it, easy to miss at first, caked in mud and other ick... is a really filthy Pai Sho tile. A White Lotus specifically. But it will take a lot of work to clean it properly. He might need help.

Jack

Jack is going to find a basket of cheap plastic non-edible Easter Eggs, that are - because how is a Mod meant to resist? - themselves Easter Eggs! The trick is in the decorations, but... what could they mean?
- One of them is in his blue and silvery white with a snowflake design.
- One is in dusky colours with small images of medieval weapons, mostly spears.
- One that is stripped in green and peachy tan, but has a "scary" face that looks like a child drew it on in brown.
- One in bright blue with thin black lines and small white rectangles. When looked at under a microscope there would prove to be words, but ones that would make no sense. Some are just DVD titles that without context are just meaningless and the rest, scattered around the egg, are like small snatches of dialogue. Things like "Look To Your Left" and "Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey Stuff" and "Don't Blink. Blink and you're dead."
- One is in reds and oranges with an almost flame like design.
- One in dark greens and browns with a very subtle plant looking pattern.
- One in silvers and dully reflective grays that looks metal.
- One in greens that looks like circuitry.
- One that is bright yellows and oranges on one side and blues and silvers on the other in swirling patterns that on REEEEAAAAALLY close examination seem to have subtle faces worked in.
- One is purple and black with white sugar skull looking designs.
- One is glossy to the point of being nearly reflective with a translucent flower on either of the narrow ends, on the narrower top the flower is in swirl of gold, on the wider bottom it looks decayed and dying in smoky purples and black.
- One has a design like an optical illusion that it was made of shattered glass.
- One is in black and red with what looks like serpent scales as a faint wash of pattern over it
